Holistic Health has been a passion of mine for over 30 years! Since then I have been studying nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices from a wide variety of sources. It is through my own need for healing that I have gained the knowledge and experience to help others on their path. My personal struggles with digestive disease and multiple food sensitivities since childhood led me to try different approaches to find what would work best for me. In doing so, I have achieved a level of health that I could not have imagined for myself years ago. I am currently maintaining my ideal weight (even less than I weighed in high-school, and 50 pounds lighter than my highest weight). Best of all, I feel very strong, flexible and comfortable in my body!
In recent years I’ve become increasingly aware of how many people are overweight, suffering from diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and other factors leading to heart disease, cancer, food allergies and sensitivities, and many other physical concerns which are preventable or reversible through healthier nutritional choices and appropriate physical activity. The desire became so strong to help others through sharing the knowledge I have accumulated, that I enrolled in the Professional Training Program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating over 100 different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the glycemic index and raw food lifestyles. Some of my instructors include Andrew Weil, M.D., Deepak Chopra, Barry Sears, PhD, David Wolfe, Neal Barnard, MD, T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Walter Willett, MD, David Katz, MD, and Bernie Siegel, MD, to name a few. The program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition is truly amazing, and gave me the focused direction, tools and confidence I needed to put my passion into practice! Having spent over 20 years working as a Certified Massage Therapist and as a Personal Trainer before that, I have a strong background in helping people feel better in their bodies. Nothing motivates me more than hearing someone say that a suggestion I made really worked for them! My counseling style is non-judgmental, patient, compassionate and understanding, while at the same time being very focused, detail oriented and goal driven.
