This month be free flowing, open to new possibilities and accepting of a certain amount of unpredictability. Use compassion, creativity and charm to inspire opportunities which can bring you independence and freedom from old ideas and conventional norms of behavior.
October 4th ~ Libra/Aries Full Moon
" Man's main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is. The most important product of his effort is his own personality." ~ Erich Fromm
The Aries Full Moon can be a great time to take the lead or to start new endeavors. But Aries and a Full Moon both amp up energy, so everyone will feel a little rush in the air. Making it a good time to keep your willfulness and temper in check and to walk a thin line when your close to the edge of an issue. With the Sun in Libra we are reminded that it's not only about “ME”!. It's about "US"!
October 11 ~ Mercury Returns to Libra
"Diplomacy is to do and say the nastiest things in the nicest way." ~ Iaasc Goldberg
As Mercury returns to Libra, after its brief return to Virgo during it's retrograde cycle, we have hope that conversations will turn more rational, judicial and well balanced. We might find the what once would have sparked an argument can now be discussed in a calm and placid way. But don't think the new tone indicates agreement, because whatever nasty arguments existed before still exist...it's just that now they are cloaked in diplomacy.
October 15 ~ Venus enters Libra
"Do you really have to be the ice queen intellectual or the slut whore? Isn’t there some way to be both?” ~ Susan Sarandon
Venus returns to her home in Libra (she has two, the other is Taurus) joining both the Sun and Mercury. With three these three planets in Libra, grace and charm will abound. This is the perfect time for all things beautiful, romantic and pleasurable. Spas? Dinner parties? Art? Culture? When Venus moves through Libra life becomes more “refined”, the flowers are perfect, the table well set, the host gracious, the conversation flows and romance is in the air. Venus will be in Libra until November 8th.
October 17 ~ Mars enters Leo
" We must overact our parts in some measure, in order to produce any effect at all." ~ Dante Alighieri
As Mars moves into Leo the world will leave behind Mars in Cancer's tenancy to side-step issues and act solely on emotions. Mars is more playfully assertive, creative and optimistic as it moves through Leo. Our actions are channeled into personal creative projects that enhance our own pleasures in life. Drama will increase as we all become enamored with playing our part to the hilt. When Mars is in Leo lovemaking is more colorful and dramatic, but we must guard against child-like self-indulgence.
October 18 ~ Libra New Moon
When the New Moon arrives in Libra we are reminded of just how much we need others and become more devoted, companionable, compassionate, graceful, loving and sincere, making the Libra New Moon a perfect time to re-establish harmony and balance in all our important relationships.
Be bold in your renewed pursuit of harmony, be it in your relationships or for world peace.
October 23 Sun Enters Scorpio
"Attachment is the root of all suffering." Buddah
When the sun moves into Scorpio, death is all around us, in the falling leaves and the fading light of day as the nights get longer and longer. Halloween, happens in Scorpio, and with it's witches, ghouls, ghosts, and goblins, we are reminded that Scorpio is the time of year for facing our own scary realities, for working on psychological and spiritual transformation, for looking into sexual issues, for dealing with joint finances and debts...and for learning to trust and let go of our attachment to suffering itself.
October 29 ~ Saturn enters Libra
"There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest." ~ Elie Wiesel
In Libra, the sign values and balance, Saturn demands we act responsibility and make cutbacks when and where necessary, it will force us to live within our means, providing for our day to day needs, but not necessarily our wants. Libra energy is synonymous with joint efforts, think in terms of we instead of you and me.
Saturn in Libra is about our individual responsibility to others. In Libra, Saturn demands that everybody get a their fair share related to what they deserve. Saturn in Libra speaks of positive rewards for those who deserve them and at the same time equal punishment under the law for those who violate the rules of justice...no matter who they are.
Sadly, it's not likely this is the way it will be during Saturn's stay in Libra, but rather Saturn will reveal the injustices and inequities that exist in our "me" first then "you" society as it increases the ranks of the poor as well as widens the gap between the richest and poorest, opening our collective eyes to so that all can see just how far we have strayed from our true values of liberty, justice and opportunity for all.
Saturn enters Libra October 29, 2009 and will stay in Libra until April 6, 2010, when it will retrograde back into Virgo, then reverse direction to re-enter Libra on July 7, 2010. It will then stay in Libra until October 5, 2012. In essence we have three years to focus on and put energy towards peace, fairness, and a well balanced life.
