Once you start a business, the clock will start ticking faster sometimes. Other times it will be slow and dull. If you want to be a great leader you should learn how to make even the dullest of days count. There are many things to do everyday. You just need to have your eyes open and ears alert. The more you understand the importance of each day, the better you will do to make each day count.
Here are a few steps to help you turn a dull day into something productive:

Set a Morning Routine
Remember that sometimes days are dull because YOU feel dull. In order to avoid such days you should follow a morning routine. Start your day early with an activity that you enjoy doing. Know that the activity should be relaxing. You could meditate, you could go for a walk, or you could just in the balcony and sip tea; thinking about yourself.

The main aim here is to give yourself time to think about your leadership and how you will advance. Early in the morning your mind is fresh and you will get many positive and effective thoughts during this time. You don’t need to dig into a problem or concern at this time. Just let your mind do the thinking while you enjoy the morning sunshine.

When you enter the office with preparation, you will be able to face the day better. When you enter the office without thinking, you won’t be able to focus properly until an emergency jolts you! Which do you think is the better choice?

Use the first Ninety Seconds of Every Meeting or Conversation
Since you are the leader, you will interact with at least a few people each day. No matter whom you talk to, you have the first ninety seconds to create an impression or a base. The first ninety seconds matter the most in a conversation. Make sure you make these seconds count. Instead of the usual “How are you?” You should set the tone with “How was your weekend.” Asking questions like that will enable deeper and more meaningful interactions.

Maintain the Right Balance
Most leaders are stuck up with meetings, calls, and conferences. They are so tangled up with all these things that they forget about the soft landscape. Instead of loading up your calendar with all these, you should also focus on things such as strategically reviewing your upcoming plans, talking to a colleague to discuss something and come up with an instantaneous answer, and so on. Only when you focus on these as much as you focus on meetings and calls will you be able to keep the creativity alive in your enterprise.

These are the qualities of a great leader. Each day he sets out to do these things and achieve greater success than those who lead a sedentary, calendar-specific life.

Entrepreneurial Learning
Leadership is all about making each day productive even if it is dull. You should start off the day with focused thoughts so that you enter your office prepared to face the day. You should also focus on what you start a conversation with and how you should allow creativity into your workplace each day.
