Cooking fish is one of my passions, but before you cook it, clean it and prepare it properly unless you buy one frozen.

Today I want to show you how to clean the octopus!

The "octopus" is a cephalopod that has very lean meat but before becoming the main ingredient of your plate, let`s see how to do a complete cleaning of the octopus.

Here's how to clean an octopus correctly

Octopus fresh cups recipe idea
Finger-food fish # 2: octopus with potatoes

For 8 cups:
- An octopus (mine was 1 kg)
- Oil
- A bunch of parsley
- A couple of potatoes
- Celery
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion

Clean the octopus eliminating the beak at the center between the tentacles. Meanwhile, put a pot of water to boil, you can flavor the cooking water, adding a carrot, celery and an onion. When the water comes to a boil put the octopus in and leave it to cook for about 40 minutes, covering with a lid. Check that the octopus is soft then turn off the heat and leave it in its water until it reaches the room temperature (about 40 more minutes).

Clean the potatoes and cook them in boiling water. Don`t forget to control with a fork the softness. I turn off the water when they start to be soft outside but still hard inside, then leave them in their hot water, to cook properly. In this way you end up saving a little of electricity.

Make a pest with parsley and olive oil. Serve octopus and potatoes at room temperature.

Bon appetite!
