Most people assess how they are doing based on how they are feeling, which is often misleading and unsafe. The philosophy is, do whatever you want to your body and as long as you have no symptoms, you’re okay. However, the reality is our actions, or lack of, have consequences. Most problems occur for weeks or even years before the symptoms take place. The best thing you can do for your health is to be proactive rather than reactive. Understanding that there are many components that comprise optimal health is a good start!

Exercise, good nutrition, healthy thinking and chiropractic care are all integral parts of great health. By incorporating these into your daily routine, you not only working towards good health, but also preventing illness and disease!

Fitness and exercise can be fun and rewarding within itself, but its primary focus is to strengthen and condition both the body and mind to carry out tasks with more vigor and less effort. Most people can give countless reasons why exercise is beneficial, but many procrastinate when it comes to taking control of their prized possession- their body! Find a place where you can offer your body an opportunity to improve your physical well-being in a setting that is both convenient and stress free.

Research shows that 98% of Americans have a nutritional deficiency of some kind when consuming the Standard American Diet (also know as S.A.D.), which is laden with fats, lots of white flour products and low nutrient foods.

Take a look at your current diet. Is your plate loaded with starches and fats that are all the same bland color, or do you see a plate filled with the different colors of fruits and veggies?

Are you constantly stressed, overtired or unhappy? Did you know that these are underlying symptoms that directly affect your health and well-being? Daily meditation can help. Just spending a few minutes listening to soft music and relaxing your mind and body can do you a world of good. Plan ahead by scheduling yourself 10 minutes each day devoted to healthy thinking.

Chiropractic is true health-care at its finest. It recognizes the function of the human body is based on energy. This energy is distributed from the brain to the rest of the body through the nervous system. Chiropractic is a healing art, science and philosophy that deals with the removal of interference to the nervous system. Interference to the nervous system can be caused by structural problems such as arthritis or poor posture; chemical interferences such as improper diet or toxic overload from drugs, sugar, cigarettes or alcohol; or mental interference from stress, depression, lack of love and many other destructive mental states.

Now knowing all these components of healthy living, when was the last time you took time to think about how you are feeling as compared to how you wished you were feeling?
