"Qi" is the life-force energy that permeates the earth we reside in. It is the energy that brings life to all beings. By the law of nature, "Qi" is carried and dispersed by the wind and preserved in the water. Though it cannot be seen or heard, it is always around and surrounding us in this environment of ours, influencing us in one-way of another (both positively or negatively)
Think of it this way. During times of nature catastrophe, we find the animals and insects fleeing and migrating. Why is this so? Because the “Qi” in their environment changes. The animals and insects sense the flow of destructive and negative “Qi coming”. Humans however lack this ability. Feng Shui hence comes into place to help identify the presence of these Negative “Qi” in an environment.
There are basically the presences of three form of "Qi" namely, the Heaven, Earth and the Man "Qi". They are also known as the Trinity Luck. In Feng Shui, the intrinsic harmony between these "Qi" is very important. Precautious measures have to always been there to ensure that harmony between the three is not broken.
"Qi" can be in their different stages and form depending on the time and environment. They can never be created or destroyed. Everyone reacts differently to the "Qi' that is surrounding them. What may be positive for some may just be negative for you. There can never be a standardized one-for-all Feng Shui formation.
Feng Shui will in this case, come into place to help harness the correct "Qi" to benefit each individual accordingly. And as "Qi" can never be created or destroyed, Feng Shui also helps to redirect or revitalize the "Qi" in that environment to better bring about beneficial influences.
